The area between the mid-northeast coast of Vancouver Island and the west coast of the lower mainland is home to some of the most beautiful and rugged scenery you could ever imagine. This area provides the first glimpses of the beauty to be found further north up the island. Famous for being the "Salmon Fishing Capital of the World", Campbell River and the surrounding islands and inlets offer comparable diving experiences to that of its northerly neighbour Port Hardy. This comparison is a hotly contested issue between divers due to the extrodinary beauty of both places.
The epicenter for these underwater adventures is the west coast of Quadra Island. The reefs and walls along these islands are home to some of the most diverse marine species on the planet. In addition, the huge amount of current running through this area feeds this ecosystem, creating an area almost unbelievable to all that enter this watery realm.
