Northern Gulf Islands

These islands are part of a chain of islands running along the eastern coast of Vancouver Island stretching from Campbell River to Nanaimo. This quiet, nearly undeveloped patch of wilderness offers some world-class diving, particularly around Texada, Hornby, and Lasqueti Islands. Similar to their southern cousins, these islands are known for their artisans and pastoral farms. Denman Island which is slightly larger than Hornby, has an astounding number of artisans and is a must see for any diver headed to the area. Another notable island to explore is Cortes with its beautiful lakes and Provincial Park on Smelt Bay.
